Different types of air heaters and their applications

Air heaters are actually the electrical machines that are heavily used for heating the air. The range of this type of heating devices includes forced air products and different types of space and radiant heaters. The devices that fall under the category of forced air products regulate air temperature through the circulation of air past a heat source using a blower or a fan. With the air current flowing through the heater, the device starts absorbing thermal energy and then leaves the heater at an increased temperature.

As far as the functioning of the radiant heaters is concerned, they get into motion by radiating heat from a point source giving the heat to the objects close to that point source. The temperature differential reasons a free-flowing convection cycle to form that heats the air mass around. When it comes to space heaters, they are actually the self-contained heating devices that can operate by either of the aforementioned ways and methodologies.

Heating elements are the part and parcel of all these heating devices and the major air heater manufacturers in India make a large range of tubular heating elements keeping in view their applications in household and commercial establishments. These elements are manufactured out of different grades of tubing including Incoloy 800, 825, Stainless steel 304, 321, 316, 316L, MS etc. Most of the manufacturers make elements from 6.5mm to 8mm. The elements are treated out with Nickel chromium wire with different grades of Magnesium Oxide powder as per the applications.

Types of Air heaters:

Duct Heaters:

This type of heaters are heavily utilised to heat moving gas streams. They are fitted into the middle of a moving air / gas stream with a view to heat the air moving through the device. Most of the air duct heaters suppliers in India produce these heaters on a large scale.

Enclosure Heaters:

Enclosure heaters are specifically made for utilization within enclosures. The devices check freezing and give protection while controlling humidity.

Forced Air Heaters:

Forced air heaters make use of the forced convection to blow air past a heat source with a fan.

Heat Torches and Flame Heaters:

Heating torches and flame heaters are the heating devices emitting a concentrated stream of unusually hotter air.

Radiators:

These heating devices have coils containing heated and circulated media including oil, hot water, or steam.

Space Heaters and Room Heaters:

Space heaters and room heaters are those heating devices which are designed and developed to be used in confined areas or spaces. One of the peculiar advantages of these devices is that they never release fatal pollutants or noxious fumes and have good portability.

Tubular Heaters:

These heaters are utilised in customized heating applications. Tubular heating elements can very easily be mold into standard or custom shapes.

In the past one decade, India has become a global exporter of the elements used in all types of heating devices.
