Know How Your IELTS Score Are Calculated
IELTS is explained as an International English Language Testing System which is generally designed for people who want to study and work in English speaking nations such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Many young people lean toward IELTS these days because they want to pursue their career in abroad. IELTS test is of two types, for example, Academic and General training. In which Academic test is taken by students who need to study in other countries whereas the General Training test is taken by people who want to get permanent residency of English speaking nation.
IELTS include 4 types of modules such as Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. These all modules are important to get higher bands in the IELTS exam. If you don’t have knowledge of IELTS you should join the IELTS center in Ludhiana so that you can easily get your desired bands.
How the IELTS test is marked?
IELTS test is marked by people who are fully trained and proficient in English. Because this is the test based on your English skills. There are different ways to calculate your IELTS score include-:
Writing
IELTS writing includes two tasks such as task 1 and task 2 in which task 1 is different for both academic and General training test. And task 2 is the same for both tests but some time academic test takers experience different question or topic related to their study. Examiners of IELTS institute marked your writing with these four ways such as
• Task Achievement or task response
• Coherence and Cohesion
• Lexical Resource
• Grammatical Range and Accuracy
They judge your writing on these 4 factors. You have to write task1 and task2 ith proper response.
Speaking
Speaking is a totally simple and easy module for people who are used to speak English. Moreover, this is as scoring as a listening module. You have to converse with your examiner for 15 minutes in order to answer all the questions he asks you.
Your speaking is marked with the factors, for example,
• Fluency and Coherence
• Lexical Resource
• Grammatical Range and Accuracy
• Pronunciation
They want to check your fluency and command n language then they will you good bands. You have to answer all the questions appropriately because they all are about yourself. Moreover, your examiner will give you a cue card topic about yourself and the environment or your previous journey. You have to speak for 3 mins your that topic fluently without any mistake.
Listening
Listening is too easy and scoring module for everyone but you have to practice this module daily in order to understand the accent of native speakers. The listening test contains 40 questions and you have to answer all the questions. Every question is of 1 mark and there is no negative mark for the wrong question. You get 7 bands on 30 marks and 8 on 35 right questions.
Reading
Reading is different for both academic and general training. Academic students get 6 bands at 23 whereas general students get 6 bands at 30. general reading is quite easy than academic but it is complicated. You have to understand the vocabulary and complex sentences that they use.
How your overall score is calculated?
Your overall band score is the average of your four component scores. You should add your bands and then divide it with 4 and after that, your actual band is rounded down.
