The Inca Trail climbs steeply along the banks of the Llullucha River. It is a long and steep climb to the highest point of the route: 4,198 m: the passage of Warmiwanusca (Dead Woman). The road passes through the rainforest before emerging into the high mountains. Llulluchapampa is a flat area above the jungle where water is available and the field is good, even if it is cold at night. The road crosses the river under a small waterfall.
