5 Different Techniques Used in Living Air Purifier

An air purifier is an appliance designed to cleanse the air in home and getting rid of all the impurities including odors, smoke, dust, and pet dander. Air purifiers basically consists of a filter and a fan that sucks in and circulates air. Pollutants and particles are captured as air moves through the filter and the clean air is pushed back out into the living space. Generally filters are made up of paper, fibre or mesh. It should be cleaned regularly to maintain efficiency. Get living air purification to breathe in the fresh air. Fresh air is extremely important to stay healthy.

Filters can be divided into five types based on the technique adopted to clean the air:

1.Basic and HEPA filters : These are the most common filters which are made of foam, fibreglass or cotton. The working of these filters are based on simple mechanism. The air passes through the filter through HVAC system or through a free standing model. The particulates in the air gets trapped in the filter. Cleaning of the particulates should be done after one month so that the filter continues working smoothly.

2.Ionizers and ozone generators : They produce ions or ozone which have charge. Normal particles in air have neutral charge but they get charged once they come with the ozone particles. After getting charged , they stick to surfaces around the room.

3.Electrostatic filters : These filters charge the particles present in the air. These particles are then collected in the plates within the machine and hence the air gets purified. These plates can be cleaned from time to time to maintain the efficiency of the filters.

4.Activated Carbon Filters : The odors and gases present in the room gets trapped while passing through these type of filters and thereby making the air in room clean. It is also used in case of volatile organic compounds. When normal filter is proved inefficient then activated carbon filters can be used.

5.UV lights : An air purifier with a UV light has the power to kill the viruses and microbes as the UV lights are germicidal. This can be installed in places where molds or other unwanted particles grow.

Select the best filter according to the need. Sometimes, a filter using combination of two technologies can also work. After all, clean air inside the house is necessary to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy and happy.
