Invisalign Clear Braces - Teeth Alignment Without The Grimace

For anyone a little concerned with the appearance of their smile, the name Invisalign is likely to put a smile on your face when you hear what it is that they can offer. If you have a gap between a couple of your teeth, or teeth which are overlapping, crooked or even twisted, then one of the Invisalign Tulsa OK things you've probably considered is teeth alignment. This is achieved through the use of a brace, and most people are well aware of what this usually means.

Typically wearing a brace for teeth alignment means having a metal or wire brace strapped to your teeth and gums for anywhere up to four years. It's a long winded process that can sometimes be uncomfortable or even painful. Some people have experienced ulcers or sores being created as the brace or wires rub against the gums.

But for many people the most worrying element is the fact that traditional metal braces are extremely obvious. There's no way you can get away with disguising them or hiding them - they're large, bulky and very obvious. Some people have resorted to trying not to laugh too much, or not smiling. It can certainly be a very tough decision, because the commitment is enormous. Although many teenagers wear these sort of braces, they're not the only ones who could benefit from teeth alignment. Many business people and professional adults have reached the conclusion that they really could do with undergoing a teeth alignment process, but have been put off the idea because of the impact which wearing braces could well have on their professional image.

But the name Invisalign is one to remember because what they can offer is a completely new alternative to traditional metal braces for teeth alignment. Sometimes called invisible braces, but more accurately called clear braces, Invisalign can offer people the chance to enjoy teeth alignment by wearing braces which are not only virtually invisible and undetectable, but which are comfortable to wear, and achieve the same or better end result in a fraction of the time.

It all sounds too good to be true, and the cynic in you is probably already coming the conclusion that it is. Granted there are a couple of downsides. The first is that whilst you're wearing the clear braces you will need to revisit your Invisalign dentist every two weeks. But when you consider that the longest period of time you're likely to have to wear the braces is 18 months, and with many treatments completed in under a year, this isn't quite as great a commitment as it would be if you had to wait four years for the process to be completed.

The other downside is that wearing invisible braces from Invisalign does require you to have a great deal of self discipline. Traditional braces are fitted by a dentist and cannot usually be easily removed. Once in, you're stuck with them, and can't safely remove them yourself. However, with clear braces you are able to slip them off at any time, and then slip them back on again just as easily, This means that you can brush your teeth and floss more effectively, eat your favourite foods such as peanut butter and sesame seed buns, and even remove the braces for close up professional photos, such as graduation pictures or wedding pictures.

But whilst this option is good news of many, if you feel you would be tempted to keep removing them too often then this may not be the best option for you. You must wear Invisalign clear braces for a minimum of 23 hours out of every 24. However, if you feel these two challenges are acceptable, then it may well be worth finding out more about what Invisalign can offer you in terms of teeth alignment without the grimace.
