Heavy-Duty Rubber Gloves

Yes, they are a tool and an essential one, rubber gloves help you keep your hands and wrists clean, they also provide protection from the cuts from sharp objects that can occur while you’re working and handling, pipes,  metal drain snake or other metal objects. Rubber gloves also give you a better grip while handling objects.

Most homeowners must already own plunger because it is a very obvious tool but if you don’t have it, buy it and see how helpful it can be. Plungers help you unclog not only toilets but can also unclog shower drains. They help you solve the minor day-to-day plumbing problems. The heavy-duty flange that is used by plumbers can produce more suction than the ordinary average home plunger.

Wrenches

There are adjustable wrenches that are important for any homeowner to own. There are usually two types of wrenches that are used mostly. The adjustable wrench was designed to loosen and tighten hex-shaped nuts and fittings on the pipe. Wrenches are available in many different sized but you don’t need to buy the whole kit.

  • Pipe Wrench: Pipe wrench is used for loosening and tightening the nuts and fittings on pipework. This tool provides a grip on the pipe, it helps to hold the one side of the pipe in place and other to rotate the nuts in the right direction.

  • Basin Wrench: This is a t-shaped tool that plumbers use to loosen and tighten the nuts under the sink. This is used to reach down the narrow spaces and helps you tighten or remove the faucet.

Drain Snake

Drain snake, also known as plumber’s snake is a flexible auger that is used to unclog the sink and shower drain, this tool goes inside the drain like a snake and helps in removing accumulated remains. It is a useful tool that helps you clear the debris like product build-up, hair, or any other thing that might be clogging the drain without any damage.

Pliers

This tool is similar to the wrenches but they are an equally important tool, these are smaller in size and allow you to loosen or tighten nuts and bolts that are too small for a  wrench to do so. These provide a great grip and will fit in places that a wrench will not be able to.

A PTFE tape or Teflon tape, these tapes are used for sealing pipe threads and other water leaks. If you have a leaky pipe, this tape will come in handy and fix the leak till you get your pipe repaired by your local plumber in Parker. This will help you with the wastage of the water and not build a mini pool in your house. A thread seal tape in your plumbing toolkit will help seal away all your water problems.
