EPFO has launched a digital platform that can be used for withdrawal and tracking of PF status of employees across the country. For EPF member balance enquiry, PF holders need user ID and password. Login to EPFO Member Portal
Once your EPF account is activated, you can easily login to the EPFO member portal using the user ID and password. Take the following steps to log in to EPF member portal.

Open the EPF portal

Enter the details mentioned on the registration page

Make sure you provide the correct details during the registration process, as later, you will be using the same details to log into the EPF member portal.

Once the registration process is over, you can now log on to the portal.

At the time of login, you will need to select whether you want to log in using your PAN. If you have registered with PAN number, then you need to select PAN number from the ‘Select Any One Document’ tab and provide your PAN Card number.

Cross check all the details before getting PIN

Once you submit the detail, you will get an authorization PIN.

Enter the authorization PIN, and you will be registered on the EPF portal.
The above process will help you open the EPF Member portal. You will need to enter specific details like address, name, mobile number, document types to download the EPF passbook from the EPF website.
Remember while logging on to the EPF member portal, you must have the 12-digit UAN (Universal Account Number). This unique number is available on your payslip.
Every employee is allotted with only one UAN number in his/her lifetime. Once you are allotted with the UAN number, you can activate your account on the EPF member portal.

3. Enter the UAN number and password that you received activating the UAN number.
4. Enter the captcha in the box.

What to do if you forget the password?
If you forget the UAN account password, you can reset the password of the EPF portal by taking the following steps:

Click on the forgot password below ‘Sign in’ button to recover the password.

You will be able to recover the password only when your KYC details are integrated with EPF account.

1. EPF balance check on the EPF Portal
EPF members can check their PF (Provident Fund) balance by logging into the EPF account. They need to visit the official website of the EPFO or Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Here are the steps for seamless access:
1. Visit the www.epfindia.gov.in
2. Go to ‘Our Service’ section
3. You need to select ‘For Employees’ option from the drop-down menu
4.You will be redirected to http://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/For_Employees.php?id=sm2_index
5. Again click on ‘For Employees’
6. Select Member Passbook from the service menu.
7. You will be redirected to the login page for your passbook.

Sign in using with UAN and password.

After you sign in, you will find Member IDs of all the EPF linked accounts with your UAN, in simple words its one employee one EPF.

Click on the member ID of the EPF account for which you want to view the member passbook.

Remember the following points while checking the EPF balance online:

You will be able to access this part of the EPFO portal only when you have an activated UAN number and you are registered on the UAN Member Portal.

If you modify the information on the website, the same will reflect within 6 hours of the modification.

The passbook records the latest entries that have been reconciled by the EPFO field offices.

Individuals with inappropriate account and exempted members shall not be able to view their passbook on the EPFO website. If you have made no contribution towards your EPF account in the last three years or more, the account will become inoperative.
