With the contribution of digitalization, everything from social protection to banking or shopping can now be done online. But for this transaction, we need a personal account. And those accounts related to financial transactions are always the target of cybercriminals.  The amount of cybercrime has increased significantly in recent times.  Email accounts, Facebook accounts, or any banking account cannot be protected from hackers. 

However, there are some simple strategies you need to know to keep your online account secure.

ü  At present, almost all types of website users have two-factor authentication to protect their accounts. This requires a PIN code in addition to the password which is instantly sent to the mobile phone and this code can be used only once.

ü  Use strong passwords to protect your account. Many people do not pay much attention to this issue. But this is the first step in a cyberattack on an account. Use uppercase, lowercase, symbols, numbers, and special characters, to strengthen the password. Don’t use your daily life words or statements as your password.

ü  When using public Wi-Fi networks to be conscious. You need to be careful when using free Wi-Fi networks. Because the security of these networks is relatively weak compared to private networks, cybercriminals can seize important information. 

ü  You should not log in from any device other than your own. Login to the account at different times from other devices this work cannot be done at all. Because the device may contain malware or programs that are capable of stealing passwords or other important information.

ü  Stay away from unfamiliar links. It is especially noticeable on Facebook. When someone shares a link, many people click on it.  But if there is no trusted website, you should not click on that link. Because through this, the Facebook account can be taken over by someone else.

ü  You can use anti-malware and anti-virus to prevent viruses and malware attacks on computers, tabs, smartphones, etc.
