Besides, you would be surprised to know that it surpasses all mica, including Phlogopite one, when it comes to thermal endurance, mechanical strength, the perfection of cleavage, resilience, and toughness. On the contrary, Phlogopite Mica is softer than Muscovite Mica, and this makes it more suitable for the manufacture of commutator Micanite, which is used in commutators of flush running designs. It is also used in plastic composite body parts for automobiles, but when compared to the industrial applications of Muscovite Mica, it has relatively lesser uses. The main reason behind this is the properties of Phlogopite Mica and its brown color, which makes it undesirable for certain uses.
So, clearly, the strong electrical properties and chemical resistance of Muscovite Mica, along with other properties and the colors it is available in, make it a better choice than Phlogopite Mica. But, this does not mean that you should invalidate the latter type as it is also used in certain domains, especially in the automobile industry. Depending on your requirements and the purpose you need mica for, you can easily choose between the two of them. However, while doing so, make sure you buy them from a reliable seller.
