Hardware Identification (HWID) is a security measure that is used by the operating system providers and application makers to identify the hardware on which the application is installed uniquely. For instance, it is used by Microsoft to activate the Windows operating system. As part of the product activation, unique hardware is generated when the operating system is first installed. The HWID identifies the hardware components that the system is utilizing and this number is communicated to the operating system provider. Every few days and at every reboot, the operating system generates another HWID number and compares it to the original to make sure that the operating system is running on the same device. If the two number generate too much, then the operating system shuts down until the operating system provider activates the product.

Purpose of Using HWID

The primary use of HWID is to ensure that the operating system is not being used on any device for which it was purchased and registered. However, if the user replaces or adds a new hardware component, like the mother-board, sound-cards, CDR drives, and other hardware. These generate new HWIDs when the operating system finds that there are too many differences from the original installation number, it sends the signal that operating system has been installed on a different hardware than the original and subsequently shut down the system. 

HWID is used by the gaming industry too. The application is in detecting the game cheats than ever before. When you are caught cheating, the account is banned and also bans the HWID or the unique computer ID. 

How Spoofer HWID works?

When you are using a game trainer or cheater, the spoofer HWID changes the computer information and keeps you safe at various times when you do so. However, if you are using one spoofer, ensure that you are not using other free spoofers it may get you banned.
