BRITMOVE aim is to deliver the best services to satisfy your requirements. We understand moving home is a time of mixed emotions, whether you are moving for an exciting new job or moving school.
All too often the excitement of choosing a new home is overshadowed by anxiety and worry; this is why as a professional removals company our job is to take the strain, leaving you to savour the excitement.
The booking process
You can request a quote over the phone or by completing the online form. We will need some information about the property you are moving from (type of property, number of rooms, etc.) in order to get a better idea about the job.
If you own a larger property, with more than 3 bedrooms, we suggest to organise a free preliminary viewing before giving you a fixed quotation price, to avoid any inconvenience on the moving day. You can also take advantage by sending us some pictures or a video of the contents in order to save time and proceed with the home removal process forward quicker.
Preparation
To speed up the moving process, we recommend to reserve an available parking spot as close as possible to the loading point. The loading process will begin immediately, assuming that you’ve packed all your belongings.
The house movers will provide a professional tool box in order to dismantle any large pieces of furniture, and wrap them in blankets before placing them securely into the vehicle.
Each box should weight no more than 23kg, unless it contains one single oversized item that exceeds 23kg. Boxes weighing more than 15kg must be marked “Heavy Package”. Boxes weighting more than 23 kg we recommend to be broken into smaller boxes.
Transportation
BRITMOVE will deliver your belongings to your new address by taking the optimal route possible. We use updated GPS systems with lifetime traffic to reach maximum efficiency when driving. To ensure your belongings are fully protected, we provide goods in transit insurance and public liability insurance.
At your new location
We will need you or another trusted person at the delivery address to provide the unloading instructions. To speed up the unloading process, we recommend to reserve the nearest parking space to you new property. The house movers will carefully unload all the boxes and furniture and place them in the instructed rooms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Firstly, try to use a box that’s the right size. Books and DVDs are heavy so they need to be packed into smaller boxes. Try not to have items sticking out of the top of boxes – this makes them harder to load. Try to fill up the boxes with cushions, linen or even newspaper so the top of the box doesn’t get crushed!
In the kitchen, it’s best to try and place a towel or sheet at the very bottom of the box. Crockery and glassware items will need to be individually wrapped in paper. White butchers paper is best for this as newspaper can sometimes leave ink marks. (We have butchers paper for sale if you need some). Finish off the box with another towel, sheet or layer of crumpled paper at the top. Boxes should be packed firmly (so the contents don’t move around) but not too tight.
