Finding your way around Marrakech

Movements are allowed freely within the region (unless otherwise provided by municipalities and regions). Movements outside the region are not allowed except for reasons of proven work need, urgency or health. For Μετακομισεις Αθηνα you have to search companies and reviews.

Within the same region you can move without carrying the self-certification with you.

Obviously, the limits remain for those who are subjected to the quarantine measure, have the typical symptoms of covid19 or have been in contact with people with coronavirus.

It is therefore possible to move and change homes without problems within the same region. However, the limitations for extra-regional travel remain.

To move inside the Medina of Marrakech you have to walk. The roads are so narrow that they cannot be traveled by any means of transport (except for motorbikes and bicycles, which you will have to constantly dodge).

Finding your way around Marrakech is complicated, also because there are no detailed maps of the medina and, in the maps available, the street names are different from those on the road signs.

The only way you will have to get somewhere will be to ask someone for directions, trusting their good faith. Someone will kindly accompany you to the door and, in return, will ask you for a tip which, by chance, will always seem scarce.

Bus

While you can use the buses to get around, they are outdated and crowded, you will probably prefer to walk or take a taxi. They are really cheap!

Taxi

There are two types of taxis in Marrakech: small (petit taxi) and large (grand taxi). The little ones are used to move around the city and the big ones are the best choice if you want to go outside Marrakech.

Taxis in Marrakech have a meter, but taxi drivers often "forget" to activate it. Before getting into the taxi, check that they turn it on and, if they refuse, we advise you to look for another taxi. If you decide to get into a taxi without a meter, you will have to negotiate the price before the car starts, in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises upon arrival.
