Personal grants

Although Pedro Sánchez's team delayed its approval for several days, the Plan Renove 2020 is already a fact. Its publication in the Official State Gazette allows us to know officially the advantages it offers to those interested in acquiring a new car and the conditions or requirements that must be met in order to access them. The truth is that, as we have been telling in recent days, the Executive government grants for individuals with disabilities has chosen to give some important last-minute brushstrokes to the draft that came to light last month. Therefore, some of those who were initially going to benefit from these aid designed to rejuvenate the park and reduce emissions will eventually see their subsidy reduced or, in the worst case scenario, they will not receive a single euro from the Government. This Plan Renove 2020 Guide will finish clearing all your doubts ...

The first coalition government in our history will allocate 3.75 billion euros to refloat and modernize the country's automobile sector after the hard blow suffered by the health and economic crisis of the coronavirus. Of these, 1,050 million will go exclusively to incentivize the purchase of new cars, whether of traditional or ecological fuels. In turn, a little more than half will be dedicated to private clients and the rest, to the acquisition of commercial and industrial ones.

In accordance with the idea of rejuvenating the Spanish circulating fleet and reducing emissions, the first condition - indispensable - is to scrap a vehicle that is more than 10 years old and change it for one with an A or B enrgy label and whose emissions are less than 120 g CO2 / km , regardless of whether it is diesel, gasoline, gas or hybrid. If the vehicle falls into the N1 category of light commercial (transport of goods with a maximum weight less than 3.5 tons), it can be changed as long as it is more than 7 years old and does not exceed 155 g CO2 / km. In addition, there will be an additional help for canceling vehicles that are over 20 years old.

It will also be necessary for the old vehicle to have a valid ITV and for its owner to be the same person who wishes to access the aid. This is something that the Executive has changed at the last minute, since in the June draft they claimed to accept that this ownership was in the name of the beneficiary or, failing that, of a first-degree relative for a minimum of 12 months.
