I am looking at getting another set done and was wondering what people's long term experience has been with other high temp coatings on exhaust manifolds. I am of course looking at shiny rather than flat colours. The current owner will provide 2 weeks training on all the businesses, with ongoing support and industry knowledge.
Has anyone had any good or bad experience with Opticoat Pro, or Pro plus? I'm interested to know how to look after the car after the coat has been applied if there is a special way to wash the car to stop marks/ swirls from happening. But a scratch in the paint cheap car detailing can run deceptively deep and you will have detailers who will simply stop trying to chase scratches in paint. So you can easily run into the situation with, say, a Mazda where your total paint thickness including three coats of Ceramic Pro is only 100 microns.
Whether your car has been on the road for a while or if it is straight off of the showroom floor, once the wax comes off you'll probably find some scratches, swirls and imperfections. That single stage polish is a must to get the best job. It's still there 30k's and 12 plus months later because I can still see my application marks when it is wet. I've been giving it a megueirs Polish/wax by hand every three to four months and it looks brand new. It doesn't have the same "glide" feeling when you touch it after cleaning but there are no swirls or scratches and it looks top notch after a wash.
He told me there's some video of a guy hitting the car with a whipper snipper or some bullshit and it leaving no mark but I can't find anything. I just want protection against bird shit and tree sap as it's a new car and not likely to be garaged often. Understand not everyone likes washing there car, or takes pride in it's appearance, so how much you do is up to you.

STAY AWAY FROM PROTEKTIV, nothing wrong with product had it applied to my car for 6 months water still beads but i dont think its as gd as ceramic pro. but the company who back it " Motorone." are bloody hopeless at customer service if u have something go wrong. I complained November 2017 still havent hear anything. If have recently investigated another product called gyeon.
The reason being is that once you have ceramic pro or opticoat, it is far easier to wash. And these touchless washes are not that effective anyway – they don't come even close to what you could achieve even with a 10 minute casual cleanup, let alone a decent hand wash. But as for the best option, there is no hard or fast answer as it depends on the person and how much effort they are willing or able to put into maintaining the paintwork.

So as a conclusion, if you after scratch resistance you are wasting your money with these coatings or sealers. because you don’t know who is touching your car for these kind of services. Doesn't show in the photos but the car is now a lot more red.

That said, I am very impressed with the local guy's setup – he has a large fully enclosed industrial suite space and all the proper lighting at all the required angles. A far cry from the compromising setup that mobile detailers have to contend with. Alternatively, another detailer has suggested going with Gyeon Mohs + instead of Opticoat.
It has a wash using a hp to foam/presoak and rinse off. Dried with a waffle weave towel and I'll then apply a coat of Z8 to it. I would love to see a picture of your car in the sun, it may not be scratched but it would be interesting to see if it is swirled at all.
