How to take advantage of the stump of a tree and dissolve it

After the tree has been cut, leave the trunk things at the desired height for the board. Cut it as flatter as you can. Have a look at the Tree Stump Grinding vs. Stump Removal.

Cut the tree trunk

If you have a tree that you have to reduce or a tree trunk that is left of a fallen tree, you can activate the stump that remains at the base of an outdoor table. In this article we will show you how to eliminate the stump of a tree without effort, our back will thank us. This method is safe and effective and does not require just manual work, the use of a drill and little else. But you have to be patient because it is a long-term process that can last several weeks. It looks like a magic trick but it's just applied chemistry.

To perform this work we need:

  •   An electric drill
  •   A thick and long drill
  •   Potassium nitrate

After cutting the tree with the chainsaw we will practice a series of perforations in the plane of the stump, five or six in a circle will be enough. Then we will make other holes in the vertical plane, these must connect with the vertical holes made in the upper part of the stump. We will pour with the help of a shower or any similar object the granules of potassium nitrate inside the perforations, about 100 grams in each hole will be sufficient. Next we will pour water so that the granules dissolve and the product begins to make its effect.

Potassium nitrate is used as a fertilizer, so we can easily get it at any store of garden products or fertilizers for agriculture. This product has in addition to its qualities as a fertilizer the ability to accelerate the decomposition of wood. After four or six weeks the wood will have become spongy and we will be able to break it easily with the ax. You can also burn the stump by adding kerosene or diesel in the holes and setting it on fire. However, this resource should only be put into practice in rural environments, where we are sure that close to the roots of the tree there is no conduit that we can damage, be it gas, electricity, water or any other supply. So in urban or semi-urban environments better not resort to burning the stump.
